Below is a list of Farm Bureau and other agriculture-related grants and scholarships available for Massachusetts residents. GRANTS & Scholarships
Through a generous bequest to the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Agricultural Preservation Foundation from the late John and Liolia Schipper, the organization is pleased to provide a grant program to assist Massachusetts farmers in becoming more economically viable and sustainable, with an emphasis on new farmers facing challenges of building a farm business in the expensive and challenging environment of Massachusetts.
Applications are accepted annually through November 1. The maximum grant award is approximately $3,000 per applicant. Applicants do not need to be a Farm Bureau member; however, if selected to receive a grant, applicants must be a Farmer member or become one before receiving funds. This $500 scholarship is awarded in memory of Gregory Finn and is meant to foster an understanding between the farm community and suburban agriculture. Applicant must be a child or legal dependent of a regular member in good standing of the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation. Applicant must be at least in their junior year of college when the scholarship is awarded. Applicant must be majoring in communications, journalism, music, or an agriculture-related field. Bristol County Farm Bureau
$500 ACADEMIC/BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP – In memory of Marjorie Cooper, Founder of Mass Ag in the Classroom
The student applying for this scholarship must be either currently enrolled or plan on continuing his/her education at the college of their choice, or must plan on entering his/her own agricultural business upon graduation.

Cape & Islands Farm Bureau
The Cape & Islands Farm Bureau offer two scholarships, one to Cape & Islands graduating High School Students and the other is a youth scholarship. Our collegiate Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a career related to agriculture and the youth scholarship it given to child who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and drive in the agricultural field. Essex County Farm Bureau
The Essex County Farm Bureau offers a scholarship through the Essex Agricultural Society.
Norfolk County Farm Bureau
The Norfolk County Farm Bureau offers a scholarship to its members or immediate family members to Norfolk County in good standing.

Farm Credit East – Scholarship Program
Each year, Farm Credit East awards scholarships to qualified students who are committed to a career in agriculture and have demonstrated exceptional achievement. They make their decisions based on your essay, experience, course of study and extracurricular activities. Candidates for the scholarship must have a permanent home address within the area served by Farm Credit East and plan to attend post high school education in the upcoming fall semester. FFA
The National FFA Organization awards approximately $2 million scholarships each year. Scholarships are awarded to FFA members and non-members seeking a wide variety of career goals and higher education. Follow the link to learn more. The deadline is November 1st.
Massachusetts Flower Growers Association
The Massachusetts Flower Growersʼ Association sponsors scholarship award of up to $4,000 depending on length of study. Applicant must major in a course of study in Floriculture, Horticulture or related agricultural sciences. Applicant must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a minimum of one year prior to submitting an application. Completed applications must be submitted by May 15th of the year to be awarded. Follow the link to learn more and apply.
Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association
The MNLA Foundation is dedicated to supporting the future leaders in the landscape and nursery industry. The MNLA Foundation For Educational Excellence has been formed to provide scholarships to individuals attending colleges, universities, and other technical schools in the area of agriculture, landscaping, and nursery and forestry science and technology.
